My Little Walnut Photography | About
Thank you for stopping by my page to see my work! I guess I should let you know a bit about myself and my photography style.

I'm often complimented on my patience with children, especially toddlers, but with a 3 and 4 year old of my own, it's just a typical day in my life! So, if you are worried about whether or not your child will "behave" for pictures, than I am your woman! I've seen it all and I encourage allowing toddlers to be themselves. So... no good behavior is required! :) I come to your session prepared to run, jump, and dive; I speak all Disney and Nick Jr. languages; and I am not afraid to act incredibly embarrassingly, if need be!

I am mainly a natural light photographer and although I do edit pictures, I prefer to keep the look of an unedited, natural picture. No heavy filters or fake effects. I believe that children know more about posing for a picture than I do and love to catch them being themselves, but I also love a smiling headshot, and I actually embrace a grumpy face too, so really I just love whatever they decide to do during our shoot!

What else is there to know? I love the Red Sox, green tea, and unsalted cashews, and when people ask me where I am from, I say, "Maine," because I was born and raised in Maine, but I have lived in Virginia since 1999. I am a graduate of Liberty University. I began majoring in Math, because I have just always had an oddball love for Mathematics, but ultimately earned my degree in Business Management.

I worked in Property Management for about 10 years before I resigned to be a stay-at-home mom. This allowed me time to pick up my camera and begin fiddling around with it. With two, new little ones, I just wanted to capture them in every stage of their babyhood (and still do). From there, I became a self-taught photographer and I cannot imagine doing anything else!

I love the new people that I have met during my time as a photographer and find it a privilege when I am chosen to capture a moment in time of a family's life. If you have read this far, thank you, and I hope this is a sign that I will be meeting your fabulous family soon too!

Until then,
